Nāpuʻu Conservation Project
Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 9:00am - 2:00pm
Puʻuwaʻawaʻa State Forest Reserve
ʻOhana day at Hauʻāina
THIS Sat. 9/8 from 9-12 p.m.
(with an optional pot-luck lunch to follow)
We'll be showing kōkua to our newest, untouched planting area in Hauʻāina. Hana include hand-weeding, woody-brush removal, and clearing of woody debri...so that we may continue to outplant in this area soon.
After lunch we'll be having a fun activity: learning a hei and oli!
Hei means 'net or ensnare' in Hawaiian, we'll be learning a string configuration (like the string games we learned as keiki)... that goes along with a chant!
If you'd like to stay and learn the hei and oli, please allow until 2 p.m.
