Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Volunteer and help us learn more about our dry forests and the species that inhabit them!

Details:  Work will be field work and will be along-side and off of 4 WD dirt and gravel roads in Pu'u Wa'awa'a and Pu'u Anahulu.  Work will include examining invasive tree tobacco plants for eggs and larvae of the endangered Blackburn Sphinx Moth.  You will be provided all training needed so no experience necessary, just a willingness to spend the day outdoors working with researchers from UH.

Some hiking required, but mostly standing, crouching, and carefully examining lots of plants.  Be prepared for rain or shine and exposure to the sun and elements, bring water, lots of drinking water, a lunch and snacks, sun protection, field guides and binoculars if interested, close-toed shoes or boots, and a small backpack, meeting place is the Pu'uwa'awa'a Baseyard.

WE ONLY HAVE A FEW SPOTS so RSVP if you are interested!  You can sign up for 1 day or multiple days.  If you have a 4WD vehicle and want to use it that will allow us to accommodate you (if we are full) as well as others, so please let us know!
