Kalihiwai Community Farm
Our Summer Ag Internship Program includes hands-on farming service projects, field trips to various agricultural sites, guest speakers and workshops, and more! Participants will be exposed to various career options, mentors, and future job opportunities for exploring the agriculture field. Students who complete the internship program will also receive a recommendation letter and internship evaluation.
Program Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm (30 min lunch, 6 hours per day)
Starts Thursday, June 6th through Wednesday, July 31st WEEK BREAK // OFF: July 1st through 5th
Site Info: Malama Kaua`i Community Farm, Kahiliholo Road, Kalihiwai Malama Kaua`i’s 8-acre Community Farm at Wai Koa Plantation hosts a 42-plot community garden, 2-acre Kaua`i Food Forest project, livestock, Youth Garden, orchards, educational farm plots, and more. Students will participate in running the farm and making value-added products. MalamaKauai.org Students must be able to get to and from the site; carpooling is highly encouraged and there is a bus stop within walking distance from the site.
