Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the College of Natural Sciences, Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU), located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $4,000 - $4,400/Mon.
DUTIES: Serves as personnel support for the unit performing office duties required to efficiently support administering research projects. Duties include the preparation and routing of personnel action forms, maintaining the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU) Human Resources (HR) database, reviewing eTimesheets, and providing status reports. Composes, writes, reviews, and edits job descriptions and coordinates with funding agencies and projects to ensure recruitments are fully executed.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION |
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. |
EXPERIENCE |
Progression job with minimum experience requirements for Level I, and combination of experience and demonstrated competence and abilities for Levels II, III. It will assume the employee to start at Level I (unless justified and qualified to start at a higher level). Experience working with human resources, databases, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Progression from one (1) level to the next is not dependent on “time-in-grade”, rather upon incumbent’s demonstrated abilities, competence, and operational needs. |
KNOWLEDGE |
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. |
ABILITIES & SKILLS |
Ability to utilize, understand, analyze and apply general HR rules and regulations. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions. Ability to multi task and to work under deadline pressure. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. |
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS |
Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted. |

As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings, and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's and PCSU’s HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's and PCSU’s HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee’s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University’s and/or the business entity's training requirements. |
SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Microsoft Access. Familiarity with University of Hawai‘i (UH) and Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) policies and procedures, and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). |
