The Program Manager is responsible for the smooth business administration and functions of the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a brand new and exciting one of a kind wildlife conservation, response and rehabilitation organization in the Pacific islands region. You will be able to play an important role in the preservation of Hawai’i's native wildlife, its natural richness and cultural heritage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Program Manager reports directly to the Center Director. Candidate must have: • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher. • Three years or more of experience in nonprofit or business administration. • Must be proficient in QuickBooks or equivalent experience in bookkeeping systems. • Experience with retail management and point of sales operating systems or the equivalent experience is necessary. • Experience with communicating effectively with the public and staff is required for this position. • Leadership, management skills and a team player mentality are vital in working cooperatively with HWC’s staff and volunteers. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Strong computer literacy inclusive of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • A rigorous attention to detail is required. • Good public speaking skills and sense of humor are essential. • Must maintain strict confidentiality in working with sensitive data, and possess excellent judgment in handling communications, expenses, budgets, other issues and personal relationships. • Must be a team player, who can build and maintain trust and confidence of Center Director and the management team. • A keen interest in conservation issues is a must. • Ability to talk with donors and participate in cultivation

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: • Daily administrative support of the Center Director as directed • Coordinate programs with all mangers • Front desk and reception of public • Public and specialized tours, answer phones, message and communications management • General office management • Human resource management • Health and safety oversight • Maintain filing and database systems • Maintaining bookkeeping system, donation tracking, and follow directives from accountant • Perform invoicing, bill payment, budget and quarterly and as needed financial reporting • Volunteer management • Manage print materials, maintain office supplies • Facilities and vehicle management • Retail store management • Fundraising, and education and public outreach program assistance • And other duties to provide professional organization and support of the HWC operations.
