The San Diego Zoo Global's Hawai‘i Endangered Bird Conservation Program is hiring a full time, permanent position to lead the team releasing and tracking ‘alalā on Hawai‘i Island.

All interested candidates are encouraged to apply! The successful candidate will enjoy spending time in the forest, and communicating frequently with staff and partners. Daily responsibilities include supervising a small field team, creating schedules, and overseeing operations and logistics. The team releases, tracks, and observes ‘alalā in native forest near Mountain View, Hawai‘i Island.

This is a permanent, full-time, salary position with an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, prescription drugs, vision, life insurance, annual leave, sick leave, retirement, as well as other optional insurance.
