Second Saturday community workday at Hawea Heiau complex with special guest archeologiest Lauren Morawski.

Helping hands needed to maintain new native plantings by weeding out invasive species, and work upland by spreading mulch, hand-pulling weeds, seasonal planting and bagging green waste.  Special workdays are deadicated to wetland enhancement for the alae'ula or working on the heiau under the direction of an archeologiest or cultural educator.  Traditional hale building scheduled for late 2019.  Student Service Project credit is available.  School groups and business volunteer days are available. 

Keawawa wetland is located mauka on Hawaii Kai Drive close to the Keahole Street intersection.  Easy street parking, though we encourage you to walk, bike, or carpool.  No restroom on property.

Tools, water and snacks provided.  Tools such as mattocks/picks and loppers are welcome. (Bring reusable H2O bottle). Limited supply of gloves (bring leather gloves if  you can), plus wear closed shoes, long pants, sun block, and sunglasses.  Great photo opportunity to capture alea'ula images.
