No task is too big when done together.

Become a Mānoa Heritage Center docent volunteer and guide tours through the lovely botanical gardens that surround Kūaliʻi the historic home and ancient Kūkaʻōʻō Heiau. If you enjoy the outdoors and interacting with people and students, this will be a fun, enriching and rewarding experience.

Six-week docent training classes are held each year.  This year, docent training will begin on Monday, July 17, 2017 and meet on Mondays from 9-12 through Monday, August 21, 2017.   Come and learn why Sam and Mary Cooke are dedicated stewards of this special place within the ahupuaʻa of Waikīkī.  Topics also include Mānoa Valley’s transition over time, native and Polynesian-introduced plants, traditional Hawaiian cultural practices and fascinating facts about our islands.
