Waihee Ridge Volunteer

The native forests of Mauna Kahalawai--the West Maui Mountains--produce three-quarters of Maui's drinking water supply. Here's a chance to volunteer, give a gift of aloha, and care for the lands that sustain us.

When: Friday, December 23 from 9:00am to 2:00pm
Where: Waihee Ridge Trail
What: Volunteer stewardship hike to kill invasive trees, collect seed from native trees, and maybe plant some new native trees 
Why: Because our native forests need some help.  
How: Meet at the gravel parking lot outside of Camp Maluhia near the Waihee Ridge Trail head.  Bring 2 liters of water, snacks and lunch, sun protection, sturdy closed-toe shoes with good tread, long pants, preferably a long sleeve shirt, and a smiling face.
