Position Duties
This is a 30 hour position (with the opportunity for more hours) that includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Lead the recruiting, selection, training, support, mentorship, and management of 5 RISE 
    • Fellows, all of which are working on with the Energy Excelerator portfolio companies. Fellows will be working on projects in the areas of business development, public policy, software development, marketing and outreach with small and large partners in Hawaii and nationally. It will be the program manager’s responsibility to stay up –to-date on these issues and lead the fellows professionally.
    • Ensure through project management, regular check ins, and provision of resources that fellow tasks and work plans are clearly identified, appropriately executed, and successfully completed on schedule.
    • Coordinate activities and programming for fellows within contractual requirements and as deemed appropriate for successful fellow participation and professional growth amongst all RISE fellows.
  • Work with the fellows’ project teams, work sites, and Energy Excelerator to ensure satisfaction with fellows’ work.
  • Grow and develop the RISE Program with the Director of RISE and other Program Managers
    • Further develop program protocols, professional development trainings, environmental trainings, and program materials by direction and through personal initiative.
  • Record and analyze related program data and quantify environmental, economic, and social results from the fellow projects. Based on the scope and deliverables of the project, aggregate fellows reports and write reports for Energy Excelerator.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
In order to be considered for hire, one must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Available to begin the position as early as April 25th 2016 and commit until June 2017;
  • Completed a four-year undergraduate degree in an interdisciplinary study that may include business, engineering or a related degree;
  • A minimum of two years full time work experience with demonstrated success in related work experiences and project management;
  • Experience and interest in playing leadership and supervisory role;
  • Able to conduct self in professional manner and set positive examples;
  • Familiarity with Hawaii’s sustainability and energy issues and current projects;
  • Interest in personally mentoring fellows and collaborating to develop a comprehensive sustainability fellowship program;
  • Strong attention to detail and personal accountability;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills;
  • Flexible in supporting other duties as assigned.

Desired
It is preferred that the applicant has the following:

  • More than two years of full –time work experience in small business related field
  • A Master’s Degree;
  • Grant writing experience;
  • Experience facilitating small groups and meetings

RISE Program Manager Position Overview

  • Hours:  Current funds are aligned for 30 hours/ week (potential for more)
