This position is located in Haleakala National Park in Kipahulu, Maui, in the Division of Administration and Fee Collection. DUTIES: FEE COLLECTION: You collect appropriate fees at the park entrance station, visitor center, campground, or other visitor contact station following established accountability guidelines for handling government funds; VISITOR INFORMATION: You serve as a front-line representative of the park by working at entrance stations, campground office, visitor center or other visitor contact stations. Provide current, accurate information to visitors concerning the area, resources and/or safety of visitors; RESOURCE ORIENTATION: You provide public orientation and explanations of current park events, resource management projects, management policies and legislative updates on issues affecting the natural, historical, and/or cultural preservation of the areas. OTHER DUTIES: You distribute mail, meter outgoing mail, assist in parking lot control, and rove the front county trails to assist visitors and answer questions.
