Regular, Part-Time (50% FTE), Limited-Term (not to exceed December 31, 2024), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), Hawai‘i Coral Reef Initiative (HCRI), located at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UHM), College of Social Sciences in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Telework (from employee’s residence city and state) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $1,666.67/Mon. (@ 50% FTE) 

DUTIES:  Assists with writing and editing proposals, project documents, and other written materials. Completes copy edits. Helps compile and update standard operating procedures and provides training. Assists with preparing and submitting personnel-related tasks, including Personnel Action Forms (PAFs), Attachment Bs, hiring, termination, and related actions. Assists with maintaining the director’s and program manager’s calendars by scheduling meetings. Evaluates current account tracking documents. Performs account balancing. Assists in writing fiscal procedures. 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Associate’s Degree form an accredited community college. (High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least two (2) years of office work experience may substitute for an Associate’s Degree.).

EXPERIENCE

At least two (2) years of work experience, with a significant amount of detailed oriented work. Internships and volunteer experience may count towards experience. (Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for one  (1) year of experience.).

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of report writing.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Good oral communication skills. Ability to prepare written reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Suite, and web conferencing platforms. Ability to compile, assimilate, organize, and store electronic files. Ability to review, compile and analyze information to prepare reports. Ability to check work for accuracy before completion of tasks. Ability to work efficiently and effectively to  meet multiple, frequent, and short notice deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Ability to build and maintain ongoing, collaborative, working relationships with coworkers to achieve the goals of the work unit. Ability to effectively conduct work remotely (e.g., telework) as applicable.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:    

Knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures for day-to-day management of program administration and financial aspects of a program. Familiar with the administrative policies and procedures of UH and RCUH, and contracts and grants policies and procedures.
