Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Have you ever felt like there was more you could do to protect the natural resources we depend on everyday? Like one day of the year just isn't enough to show how much you care about this beautiful Earth? Millions of people around the world are being empowered to play a vital role in research and conservation of the natural world around us through citizen science projects, and now you can too!

The Society for Conservation Biology's Hawaii Chapter presents an Earth Day Citizen Science Fair!

Panelists, booths, project demos, prizes, food, and more!
ALL FREE!

Join us on April 19th at the McCoy Pavillion in Ala Moana Beach Park to learn about the diverse range of community-involved projects that are working every day of the year to conserve the precious ecosystems that we depend on to live.

The fair will start with a panel discussion led by experienced project leaders, after which we will have food, music, displays and demonstrations from Citizen Science projects around the island.

Mahalo to our partner organizations:

Hawaii & Pacific Islands King Tides
Kaulunani's Urban & Community Forestry Program
Eyes of the Reef

The Pueo Project

HI-SCB is a new local chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB). "An international professional organization dedicated to promoting the scientific study of the phenomena that affect the maintenance, loss, and restoration of biological diversity."

As a chapter of the larger organization, we share the vision and values of SCB, and try to focus on how to apply them locally. We are a professional organization grad students, undergraduates, post docs, residents, cultural practitioners and professionals in Hawaii dedicated to promoting the science and practice of conservation biology.
