We are excited to announce our 2nd annual Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death Symposia to be held on Hawaiʻi Island:
Saturday March 3, 2018 West Hawaiʻi Symposium
West Hawaiʻi Civic Center, County Council Chambers
Please join us for refreshments and a chat with our speakers starting at 8:30AM.
The symposia are scheduled from 9:00AM to 12:00PM.
Attendees 18 years and older will receive a free ROD decontamination kit.
These symposia are free public events. However, space is limited, so we ask that you register by going to the website www.RapidOhiaDeath.org and clicking on the link for the symposium you'd like to attend.
Presentations will include: Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death -tale of two species, how the fungus spreads, screening for resistance, wood treatment research, aerial tools for disease tracking, effects on the forest, management actions, and recommendations for landowners. We will have small group discussions to gather feedback from the community and provide sessions for questions/answers.
