Seeking Hawaiʻi High School Students Grade 9 - 11: Hawai’i AgDiscovery 2021! Virtual Event July 11 - July 24, 2021

Apply at www.aphis.usda.gov/agdiscovery. Deadline March 25th, 2021.

For those who are not familiar, AgDiscovery is a joint program between several universities throughout the nation and the USDA (US Department of Agriculture).  It gives high school and middle school aged students the opportunity to participate in a free, 2-4 week summer program.  As AgDiscovery participants, students learn about careers in agriculture, agribusiness, and animal and plant science from professionals in the field.  Participants also engage and interact with other students in team-building and cultural activities.

Hawaiʻi AgDiscovery Program

We are lucky to have a local Hawai’i AgDiscovery Program with the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa!  Our program is normally held in-person, but due to safety concerns with COVID-19, Hawai’i AgDiscovery 2021 will be held virtually July 11- July 24, 2021.  Sixteen high school aged students in grades 9, 10, and 11 will be selected to participate.  Please encourage your students to apply and complete their applications before the deadline of March 25, 2021.

Hawaiʻi AgDiscovery 2021 is on! During this free 2 week virtual program, students will explore career and educational opportunities in the fields of plant and animal sciences, with presentations by USDA and the Univeristy of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. Through interactive modules with professionals in the field, students will gain valuable experience in agriculture and agribusiness, helping them find a career they love! High school students in grades 9, 10, or 11 may apply.
