Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

In celebration of Earth Month, the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Facility Maintenance and the Hawaii State Department of Health present the Ninth annual Mauka to Makai Environmental Expo. This family-friendly event promotes keeping O‘ahu clean and free of pollution, from the mountaintops to the ocean.

The free expo will have interactive booths showcasing programs that preserve and protect Hawai‘i’s environment.

Activities include a variety of hands-on learning activities and displays: Watch the The Journey Home puppet show, a story about Apoha, the o‘opu, and friends. Then, take pictures with Apoha and take home a free copy of the story's activity booklet. Explore water pollution prevention and ocean-related arts and crafts booths. Delight in keiki performances. Free native Hawaiian plants, courtesy of Hawaiian Electric Company, will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

Food will be available for purchase. Complimentary water stations will be provided for guests who bring refillable bottles.

Free parking and shuttles will be available at Waikīkī Elementary School beginning at 8:45 a.m.
