Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Kamaha'o Nā Hulu Ko'o, “astonishing are the feathered ones”, a 1-day community event featuring Hawaiian sea and wetland birds. This free event, hosted by Papahana Kuaola, will reach and encourage family and community of all ages to participate and expand their knowledge and understanding of cultural significance in the Hawaiian worldview and traditions.

Thanks to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Hui Kū Maoli Ola, and other supporters the event will include manu themed presentations and ohana activities by cultural experts, educators and artisans. Presenters include food and stories by Kamoas Kitchen, renowned wildlife artists Daniel Van Zyle and David K. Hayes, and feather creations by Kawika Lum and Kuahiwi Moniz. The HPD will also be making keiki and kupuna IDs.
