Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Our week-long Nature Adventure Camp for keiki, who are 6 to 11 years-old, will be held during the next school break.  Kids can go tech-free and high touch in nature in this five-day program held from 8 am to 3 pm. Our program is led by expert environmental educators who specialize in outdoor exploration with hands-on education.

These offerings sell out fast. We keep our student groups small to ensure the highest quality of care and education. We provide 1 teacher for every 10 students to ensure that every child gets the best experience possible.

Spring's theme is Sustainable Superhero and celebrates creative ways to aim for zero waste by reducing, reusing, and recycling. Students will design a service project, become more mindful about consumption and waste and study the impact of trash on the environment.

Mālama Honua – Weeks 1, 4
In 2014, the Hokule’a set out on a 3-year voyaging journey to forge relationships and connections with different cultures and people around the world and to navigate toward a more sustainable future. This was a magnificent accomplishment and we are going to continue to spread the message of Malama Honua – Taking Care of the Earth! All week, we will explore nature and learn about how we can do our part to care for our island home and planet. We will talk about how our Hawaiian ancestors created sustainable systems in order to maintain their resources and thrive. We will talk about little things that can make a BIG difference: like gardening, composting, choosing to use non-plastic products, conserving water, and picking up litter. Just as it is critical for us to take care of our precious island home in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it is equally crucial for us to work together as a global community to take care of our one, life-sustaining planet in the vast sea of space. Join us for an exciting week as we explore nature and take action in protecting Mother Earth!

Amazing Adaptations – Week 2
Did you know that we have a native freshwater fish here in Hawai‘i that can climb up waterfalls? Or that our native pueo makes its nest on the ground instead of up in a tree? Or that the endemic Silversword plant has silver-colored leaves to help reflect the strong ultraviolet light found at higher altitudes? These animals and plants have special body parts and behaviors that help them to adapt to their environment in order to survive. This week, we will become experts of adaptations while we explore nature! Please join us for an exciting adventure of discovery!

Our Blue Planet – Weeks 3, 5
Fun fact: our planet is more than 70% water! Water can be found in our salty oceans, in the ground trapped within rocks, and even in the clouds that fill the sky.  No wonder Earth is often referred to as “The Blue Planet!” Campers will be diving into a week of water-related discoveries, crafts, games, and outdoor adventures. We will be soaking up the fun as we explore nature and learn about how plants and animals (including humans!) depend on our planet’s water for survival.
