Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Kick off Volunteer Week Hawaiʻi at Pālehua! Join us for a morning of planting native lama and lonomea trees. The Akupu site is in the Gill Ewa Lands. The Gill Ewa Lands encompass 1,600 acres in the southern tip of the Wai‘anae mountains dedicated to preserving the land’s important biological, cultural, economic and historical resources. The Akupu Enclosure provides habitat for endangered ʻelepaio to nest. We will probably hear and see some native Elepaio as we work in the area, so bring a camera as well. Pack a lunch and/or snack and definitely mosquito repellent.Tools, gloves, and refreshments provided. We will work from 9am-12pm. Call (808) 278-6650 if you have any questions.
