Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

National Tropical Botanical Garden is home to McBryde Garden, a scientific repository for tropical botany.  The voyaging Canoe garden trail is an ethnobotanical epicenter, used by hundreds of students throughout the year to teach about Polynesian practices.  From star voyaging to medicinal or economic plant uses, this section of the Garden is our Education Program's home base.

We'd enjoy spending a few hours with you to help maintain this area.  Group workdays help to fine-tune the u'ala (sweet potato) patch, volunteers efforts weeding the lo'i (terraced water gardens featuring Kalo/Taro) help keep our living collection of plants in the best of health.

Closed-toe shoes are required. Directions are sent to confirmed participants.
