Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

The North Shore Town Cleanup has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, November 1 at Baldwin Beach Park from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This annual beach cleanup is a partnership between Mālama Maui Nui, Surfrider Foundation--Maui Chapter, and PositiveH2O that takes place during "Get the Drift and Bag It!", the month-long marine debris removal and shoreline cleanup campaign for Hawai'i  that falls under the banner of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup (ICC).

Due to Tropical Storm Ana, the North Shore Town Cleanup had to be rescheduled from its original date on October 18 to November 1.

All cleanup supplies will be provided for volunteers at the November 1 event, though people are asked to bring their own reusable water bottles, and are encouraged to bring gloves and reusable bags or buckets to lessen the amount of plastic bags used to collect litter. Carpooling, walking, and bicycling to the event is also suggested.

Flatbread Pizza is generously providing lunch for volunteers who attend the cleanup, and the first 25 volunteers to arrive will receive an event t-shirt and coupon card to be used at participating Pa'ia merchants.

Those who cannot attend the North Shore Town Cleanup can still participate in “Get the Drift and Bag It!” by organizing their own independent cleanup in these last two weeks of the campaign. Individuals choose a site in their neighborhood or favorite public area and gather family and friends to volunteer. Mālama Maui Nui can provide the supplies for these community-initiated cleanups, including the ICC data cards, trash pickers, gloves, bags, buckets, vests, and trash pickup service following the event.
