Education Internship

Description:
The Education Department at Lyon Arboretum is seeking an intern who is interested in pursuing a career in the field of education and who may be interested in environmental education. Interns will be expected to help with supervision of students in the Summer Camp and school tours, translate the current HCPSIII standards into the new NGSS standards for our current school tour activities, help to develop new lessons and activities for the school tours, improve current lessons and activities, and provide support with the details of running a field trip program.

Details
• 20 hrs/week, 8 week internship.
• 8 weeks in May 22nd – July, 2017.
• Intern will receive a $2,000 stipend, to be paid in 2 increments, (after successful completion of the first 4 weeks, and at the end of the eight week period).
• A portfolio of work samples will be required to complete at the end of the internship.
• Opportunity to work in a professional environment dedicated to conservation, education and public service.

Selection will be based on academic achievement, experience working with children, an interest in outdoor and environmental education and future career plans.

Proficiency in the English language is a requirement.
