Maui
The West Maui Mountains Watershed Partnership focuses on the protection of native Hawaiian forest and related water resources within ~48,000 acres of forested watershed in the West Maui Mountains. The majority of the work will be performed in remote locations accessed by truck or helicopter and will require the ability to hike and backpack over rough and steep terrain and camp in sometimes difficult conditions. Weather can range from hot and dry to cold, rainy and windy.
All training is provided on the job. Knowledge of native Hawaiian flora and fauna and threats from alien species and related work and outdoor skills are desirable. The typical work week may involve camping, hiking, office and base yard duties and occasional weekend outreach activities. Hours may vary, but are generally 7- 5:30 and Monday thru Thursday unless camping overnight. Offices are located in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
