Successful applicant will have the opportunity to: · Reduce community environmental hazards and conserve, restore and sustain natural habitats through work with the Division of Forestry and Wildlife in Maui’s Natural Area Reserves System (NARS). Learn more about the Maui NARS here: http://dlnr.hawaii.gov/ecosystems/nars/reserves/maui/ · Engage in hands-on work in Maui’s unique environment on restoration, conservation as well as disaster preparedness practices · Camp and hike in remote areas in Maui’s mountains. Member may be exposed to extreme camping conditions. · Ensure 1700 internship hours are completed by November 13th in order to receive educational award post term. · Maintain a positive attitude and respect for the land, people and culture while learning and having fun in some of Hawaii’s most beautiful places! MEO will provide a living allowance bi-weekly while member is completing hours
