Time Commitment
  • 12 weeks, from June 4 – August 22, 2024
  • 40 hours/week
  • 10-hour workdays (Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
  • Some overnight camping for up to four (4) consecutive days
Typical Work Demands
  • Hiking up to ten (10) miles per day along steep, rugged terrain through thick brush
  • Working/camping in remote forest areas under inclement weather conditions
  • Regular helicopter transport to remote areas (applicant will ALWAYS be escorted on and off helicopter by a certified helicopter crew member)
Examples of Internship Duties
  • Invasive weed control (will include the use of herbicide)
  • Rare plant re-introduction and monitoring
  • Rare snail and arthropod monitoring
  • Ungulate and rodent monitoring and control
  • Fence and snail enclosure maintenance
  • Native forest habitat restoration
Intern will report to work at:   ANRPO baseyard located at 413 O‘ahu St, Schofield Barracks, HI
Intern must provide own:
  • Transportation to and from ANRPO baseyard at Schofield Barracks*
  • Food and lodging
  • Valid Driver’s License (required to obtain a Schofield Installation Access Pass)*
Compensation $17.00 per hour
