We are a 5-acre native Hawaiian public garden located in downtown Kahului. The Kupu position would involve training to lead group activities with local schools, editing plant growing information, ‘Ōlelo Hawaiʻi and botanical plant names, and cultural use information, assisting with seed processing, and helping with events like plant giveaways by assisting with nursery operations. This position does not involve camping or frequent field work. Cross training with other organizations will be provided, and more field training will be provided through the seed collection and storage program. Preferred qualifications include previous education and/or volunteer experience in Hawaiian horticulture, botany, or Hawaiian language and culture.
There is a short turnaround for this position so please apply at https://kupuhawaii.tfaforms.net/263 right away if you may be interested. Applying in no way commits you to the program, but is an essential first step to see if it may be a good fit for you.
