Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Legislative E. Gordon Grau Coastal and Marine Resource Management Fellowship Program (2022 Legislative Grau Fellowship). This is a special call for applications for a one year Legislative Grau Fellowship based in Washington D.C. from February 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023. We are partnering with the Office of U.S. Senator Brian Schatz to host a fellow. Applications are due November 12, 2021 via eProjects and the chosen 2022 Legislative Grau Fellow will receive a $60,000 stipend for the fellowship and up to $2,000 for assistance with relocation.

Important dates and deadlines

·  Friday October 22, 2021 12:00 PM: Grau Fellowship Info Session on zoom (register in advance HERE)

·  Friday November 12, 2021 5:00 PM: applications due through eProjects (https://www.soest.hawaii.edu/eProjects/logn/logn_login.php)

·  February 1, 2022: start date for Fellowship

Eligibility

  • Graduate students completing their degrees (Masters, Ph.D., or J.D) in Hawaiʻi between May 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021
  • Graduate students from Hawaiʻi (graduated from a high school in Hawaiʻi) completing degrees outside Hawaiʻi (e.g., California) between May 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021
  • Students in fields related to conservation, management, public policy, planning, and/or law of marine and coastal resources are eligible and encouraged to apply 
  • Fellows must complete all degree requirements before starting the fellowship on February 1, 2022
