Description of Opportunity
I. Summary of Position
The Program Intern of the Mālama Loko Ea Foundation (MLEF) provides assistance for the restoration and educational programming at Loko Ea that supports MLEFʻs mission “to perpetuate the Native Hawaiian culture through education, land stewardship and community building while sustainably restoring our precious natural resources." The Program Intern will support the Kupuohi Education Program— Na Pili Wai Summer Program and Kulaiwi Nani Restoration Program, by performing general Loko Ea Fishpond maintenance duties, hosting educational field trips and participating in community outreach during community workdays and other events. Teamwork and community engagement are vital to the vision and mission MLEF. The program intern will be participating as a full member of the MLEF team working with a variety of people from different age groups. Program interns should be dependable, able to work with people of all ages, and available to work weekdays, with some weekends, and evenings.
The Program Intern will be expected to work 40 hours per week. Summer stipend, dependent on internship length, provided. Up to $2,500.
II. Essential Job Functions
Support Kulaiwi Nani Restoration Program by:

Support the Kupuohi Education Program by:
· Performing other duties as assigned
III. Qualifications

IV. Minimum Requirements
· Interest in Hawaiian Studies, Hawaiian Language, environmental studies, and education or any other related field.
· Experience in using Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Google Drive software programs, and web development software.
· Ability to do physical labor including carrying a minimum weight of 40lbs and working in outdoor environments
· Must be passionate about aloha ʻāina
· Daily access to computer and internet
· Valid Hawaiʻi Driver’s license
· Availability on weekends
