Kupu Community Resilience VISTA Leader
VISTA Leaders will work with Kupu program staff and VISTA members to expand and build the capacity of individual VISTA members. The aim of a VISTA leader is to provide support and coordination for members to increase the project’s impacts. VISTA Leaders have successfully completed at least one year of VISTA service, or one full term of full-time service (serving 1,770 hours or more) with either Americorps State and National or Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), or at least one traditional term of Peace Corps service.
Duties:
Enhance VISTA success by supporting recruitment and selection of high quality VISTAs to ensure project success by researching recruitment opportunities, reviewing VADs for clarity, suggesting processes for candidate assessment and evaluation, and assisting in screening applicants.
Develop and conduct orientation and training to equip VISTAs with knowledge and skills related to Kupu VISTA members’ projects.
Facilitate a successful year of service for Kupu’s VISTA members by conducting one-on-one meetings, assisting VISTAs in clarifying problems, and guiding VISTA members in creating legacy documents.
Work with supervisor to ensure overall project stability and sustainability.
Program Dates:
June 2019 - June 2020 (1 year, full time)

Applicant Requirements
Has completed at least one year of national service
Age - members must be at least 18 years of age
Diploma - applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Citizenship - applicants must be one of the following: US Citizen, US National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien
Housing/Transportation - applicants must have their own housing and transportation arrangements on island
