Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

As an intern, you will visit and work in many areas of Haleakalā National Park in the summit and Kīpahulu districts. You will also meet and learn from experts in other government and non-profit organizations that work to protect our native species and ecosystems.

 

Applicants must be: 

  1. Currently enrolled in a Hawaiʻi high school
  2. Available full-time between June 24 - July 12, 2019 (7:30 am - 4:00 pm) plus time travel time
  3. Able to provide own daily transportation to and from designated pick up sites at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku or Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao
  4. Able to attend a mandatory orientation on June 17, 2019
  5. Able to provide own housing on Maui
  6. Able and willing to work outdoors at elevations ranging from sea level to 10,000 feet in varying weather conditions
  7. Available for a multi-overnight camping trip in Kīpahulu
