Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Water Resources Research Center (WRRC), located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $2,372/Mon. 

DUTIES:  Works under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) on sponsored research projects performing standard and complex field and laboratory procedures. Maintains accurate and timely record of test results; applies standard quality control procedures to assure accuracy of test results; operates, calibrates and performs routine maintenance on specialized equipment; maintains supply inventory; collects data; organizes and centralizes files and records; and prepares solutions, reagents, and media for prescribed tests. Participates in meetings with the PI. 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Horticulture or plant science related majors.  EXPERIENCE:  Up to one (0-1) year of laboratory experience, field work experience, experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and statistical analysis.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Knowledge of scientific method and experimental design. Ability to effectively communicate in both written reports and presentations. Must possess a valid driver’s license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal driver’s insurance equivalent to Hawai‘i’s No-Fault Driver’s Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment.  POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:  As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures.  Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). 

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Background/course work in agricultural sciences. Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals including farmers and scientists.
