This position will be located in one of the following areas: Honolulu, HI (Oahu), Hilo, Kamuela or Kealakekua, HI (Hawaii). The official duty station will be determined upon selection. The incumbent serves as a Geographical Information Systems Specialist/Resource Soil Scientist. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership and technical assistance to staff in GIS and geospatial activities in the development of conservation plans, facilitating and training in the use of GIS and geospatial programs, tools, hardware and software, analyzing and assessing natural resource data to identify and address resource concerns for conservation planning, integrating soils, soil survey information and natural resource data with overall conservation program activities, etc.
