This position is located in the State Parks Division of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, and is responsible for planning and conducting historical and archaeological research on State park lands; identifying and evaluating archaeological sites; determining the significance of cultural resources, interpretive potential and cultural value; conducting archaeological surveys and analysis of artifacts; salvaging archaeological sites prior to park development projects; monitoring construction for potential archaeological remains; preparing archaeological reports and site maps; preparing cultural resource management plans and burial treatment plans; developing interpretive materials for historical sites; and other related duties as assigned.
