Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Not many people know that Hawai‘i is the ‘endangered species capitol of the world’ and according to The Nature Conservancy, half of the birds the United States government considers endangered, are from Hawaii. The Hawaii Wildlife Center is a new and purpose built facility that provides invaluable support for the native wildlife of Hawai‘i. Through hands-on rehabilitation, education and research the HWC cares specifically for native Hawaiian birds and the Hawaiian Hoary Bat. HWC has a small yet growing ‘Volunteer Ohana’, and we are looking for more like-minded people to join us. Here are just some of the existing areas we have available right now, or that will be opening up soon as the HWC continues to develop; gardening, housekeeping, maintenance, docents, office work, retail, animal care, transportation drivers & pilots, and cultural education. Please contact us for more information and a volunteer application form. Volunteering at the HWC is a fun and rewarding way to spend your time whilst giving back to the aina. We’d love for you to come visit with us, make new friends and spend some quality time helping Hawaii’s native wildlife. See you soon!
