HIHWNMS B-WET COORDINATOR - ID#15614 (The full position description is attached and available on rcuh.com) Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (HIHWNMS), Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET), located at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) office in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. DUTIES: Coordinates with program managers from NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, Office of Coastal Management and Office of Education to provide technical support for the B-WET Hawaiʻi grant program, including reviewing B-WET proposals, participating in B-WET grant panel committees and B-WET grant site visitations. Serves as a technical monitor for B-WET grants to grant applicants, recipients, and NOAA officials for matters related to grants and funding announcements. Coordinates funding recommendations and the review process for the current competition in coordination with the federal program officer. Promotes best grants management practices internally and externally to help ensure sound program operations through the training modules online with a federal program officer. MONTHLY SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications.  PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in science, education, natural resource management, or related field. EXPERIENCE: Two to four (2-4) years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing environmental education programs, program evaluation, or community based outreach programs. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of marine conservation issues in Hawaiʻi. Knowledge of federal government procedures including those related to grants management and procurement. Knowledge of developing stewardship programs to engage the public in protecting natural resources. Knowledge of NOAA and its partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of coastal and marine programs within NOAA. Must be able to operate PC computers proficiently with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to learn specialized programs. Must be able to effectively coordinate and manage office and program resources expeditiously. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, strong communication, and organizational skills. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge in education evaluation or other evaluation techniques. Grant administration or management experience. Basic knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS). Knowledge of Adobe Creative products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Outreach and communications skill sets that include display design, photography, video, and editing skills.
