MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
85% Implements natural resource management in the field including but not limited to invasive plant species control and removal using chemical (herbicide) and mechanical techniques (, surveying and mapping using GPS tools, and data collection. May also assist with other natural resource management duties according to project need; these may include restoration planting and fence maintenance. This position requires the ability to conduct work under strenuous outdoor conditions (e.g. extreme weather, mosquitos, steep terrain). Able to hike up to 10 miles per day, backpack with up to 35 pounds of weight, and camp in remote areas and rugged terrain for up to four (4) days at a time.
10% Baseyard work including but not limited to recording and reviewing data, documentation of day-to-day field work, maintaining field gear, baseyard grounds, vehicles, and other equipment, as needed.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.
