Aloha— I just wanted to inform you of a Social Scientist vacancy with NOAA Fisheries at the Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) in Honolulu, HI within the PIFSC Socioeconomics Program. This is a permanent position with NOAA advertised at the ZP-0101-03/04 level. The individual will be hired at the ZP-03 level with promotion potential to ZP-04. The position is open to all eligible US citizens as well as current federal employees. The PIFSC Socioeconomics Program conducts a broad range of research across the Pacific Islands Region to support NOAA goals of sustainable fisheries, habitat conservation, and protected species recovery within coastal and oceanic ecosystems. The research helps ensure that marine resource managers have an understanding of cultural traditions, local knowledge, and socioeconomic values associated with marine resource use and conservation in Pacific Island communities.
