Kauai Nene Habitat Conservation Planning Specialist

Full-Time, non-Civil Service position with the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU), Kauai Nene Habitat Conservation Plan (KNHCP) project, located on Kauai. Specialist will be partially responsible for managing, organizing, and working closely with a diverse group of businesses and agencies as applicants and stakeholders to the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) to accomplish timely completion of HCP applications and related materials or deliverables. Assists with writing and preparation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Analysis and other parts of the total HCP application. Produces HCP related letters, mailings, phone, and e-mail communications, and organizes/manages project meetings and deliverables. Assists with coordination and planning of public and agency meetings. Less frequent and more essential seasonal duties include: assisting with Nene surveys, evaluation of avoidance and minimization measures, habitat evaluations for mitigation options, and other HCP analyses as needed.
