Maui Nui Botanical Gardens (MNBG) is seeking full-time Program Manager in Kahului, Maui. MNBG is a 6-acre public botanical garden, with a mission to foster appreciation and understanding of Maui Nui’s plants and their role in Hawaiian cultural expression by providing a gathering place for discovery, education, and conservation.

Position Overview:
The Program Manager is the chief public relations representative and executive assistant for the Garden and creates outreach messaging and communications regarding the organization’s programs as well as for all special events. S/he is responsible for greeting visitors, managing organizational membership, administrative and staff support, and accounting of income and revenue. S/he assists the Executive Director to schedule events and coordinate event logistics. S/he is the primary office person who interacts with the public, answers phones, and collects admissions. S/he reports to the Executive Director and assists management in fundraising, grant writing and reporting, and budget tracking for accounting purposes.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years work experience as an executive or administrative assistant, or with nonprofit public relations. Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, Meta Business Suite, Facebook, Instagram. Ability to maintain professionalism in all public interactions with tourist visitors and residents. Strong organizational capacity and systems management. Strong ability to multi-task and solve problems. Basic knowledge of native Hawaiian and canoe plants.
Desired:
Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, OneNote, PayPal and Stripe, iVolunteer, Auxilia, or similar donor databases. ‘Ōlelo Hawai‘i and other Hawaiian cultural knowledge. Prior experience in non-profit sector. Basic knowledge of graphic design.
