Other Conditions: We are temporarily located at the Manoa Innovation Center through mid-May 2024. Position is annually renewable every July 1 contingent on performance and availability of funds. This is not a remote position. Pending position clearance. 

Duties and Responsibilities

   (NOTE: ** denotes Essential Functions)

  • **Coordinate Hawai'i Conservation Alliance steering committee meetings including supporting scheduling, logistics, facilitation, and note-taking
  • **Schedule and facilitate subcommittee meetings
  • **Schedule and facilitate conference planning committee meetings
  • **Coordinate Hawai'i Conservation Conference abstract review process including utilizing digital systems to facilitate abstract reviews, preparing review packets, and coordinating abstract committee meetings
  • **Prepare Hawai'i Conservation Conference draft schedule

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in environmental science, natural resources management, or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for biocultural resource conservation in Hawai'i; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
  • Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of biocultural resource conservation in Hawai'i as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
  • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with biocultural resource conservation in Hawai'i.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and [if applicable, add additional software].
  • If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skilled with online scheduling, videoconferencing, and shared file systems, in addition to being comfortable with learning new software needed for completion of tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to reliably work independently and within a group
  • Preferred at least 1 year experience working with coordinating projects across multiple partners
  • Preferred experience creating agendas and facilitating meetings
