Program Officer

Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation is seeking a qualified individual to join its staff team as a Program Officer. Hauʻoli Mau Loa Foundation (“the Foundation”) is a private grantmaking foundation established in 1990 by Helga Glaesel-Hollenback who, in her words, “found great happiness on the islands of Hawaiʻi” and through her philanthropy sought “to return the generosity of the islands.” For more information about the Foundation, please visit our website at www.hauolimauloa.org.

ROLE OF THE PROGRAM OFFICER

The Program Officer will primarily work in a team approach to develop, implement, evaluate and enhance the Foundation’s program activities. The Program Officer will be a primary Foundation contact with multiple Foundation partners (grantees) and prospective partners. They will conduct site visits, assess partnership opportunities, analyze and synthesize information, prepare written and verbal reports, undertake special research assignments, work on developing program strategies (including evaluation), and maintain current knowledge on the nonprofit sector, philanthropy and content areas related to the Foundation's funding interests.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range for the position is $80,000 - $95,000 and dependent upon experience. The benefits package for this position includes an employer paid comprehensive health plan (drug/vision/dental) with full payment for the employee and eligible dependents; life insurance and long-term disability insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match; paid family leave; 20 days of paid time off (PTO) annually; and observance of most federal and state holidays.
