SUMMARY OF POSITION: Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service
position with the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources
(CTAHR), Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management
(NREM), NREM Ecosystems Extension Program, located in Oahu. Continuation
of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work
performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State
laws.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Works directly with research Principal Investigators
(PIs) and Co-PIs to interpret scientific information. Summarizes and produces
reports on research objectives, analyses, and results for both technical and non-
technical audiences. Leads the development and execution of science
communication outputs/products. Produces science communication tools,
strategies, and events. Communicates research findings through educational
products and activities, including written online and printed materials, interactive
online and in-person trainings and presentations, and field tour itineraries.
Identifies scientific knowledge gaps and communication preferences best suited
for different science user group needs, this includes determining the type of
scientific information, language, terminology, and methods. Organizes and
facilitates meetings with program collaborators. Evaluates, documents, and
writes reports of project outcomes and impacts. Locates, reads, and synthesizes
primary scientific and technical literature. Develops and tracks project budgets
and expenditures.
