The Marine Coordinator will provide administrative, logistical, and technical support functions for the Hawaii Fish Trust Program and office operations for the CI Hawaii team. The Coordinator will track grants and contracts and assist with budgeting. This person will organize meetings, community events, and travel in support of CI Hawaii programs and initiatives. This person will be responsible for updating the program website, creating other communication pieces, and assisting with outreach and education. This person will supervise office interns and approve contractor work related to the office and programs. This person will make purchasing decisions related to the office and address licensing and other issues related to compliance with Hawaii regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grants management and budget compliance and tracking: draft and manage grants and contracts to external partners, ensuring compliance and reporting with CI policy. Advise team on grants policy and best practices. Provide training and education to grantees as needed. Analyze reports and survey feedback for trends. Provide administrative and logistical support to the HFT program: organize meetings and workshops; arrange travel and manage Hawaiian Airlines corporate account; manage CI HI credit card account; prepare presentations; maintain Hawaii Fish Trust records and documents; assist other team members with research and logistical arrangements; and supervise interns and contractors Manage the CI HI office, paying rent, utilities and working with the management company as needed. Makes equipment and infrastructure purchases related to the office. Liaise with MCSO division and other CI Operations staff to stay current on policies and procedures that will impact the HFT programs. Develop and maintain communication/fundraising materials and tools, including factsheets, website content, blogs. Plan and oversee community events hosted in the CI office. Working Conditions:

This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Normal office environment. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Proficient in operating computer software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. Attention to detail Interest in Hawaii’s marine environments 2 years experience in administrative support Proficiency in writing and editing skills Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree Experience in environmental sciences and/or marine biology Knowledge of Hawaii Web design and desktop publishing experiences 2 years grants management experience
