A Conservation Field Crew Member will act as a representative of Pono Pacific, with a primary focus of completing restoration activities that help preserve Hawaiʻi’s native ecosystems. A Conservation Field Crew Member will act in the best interest of the company, act in the best interest of other employees, and act in a fair, safe, effective, and legal manner.
This position carries out general labor work, under close supervision by a crew leader, in the conservation field to help with maintenance and preservation of native ecosystems. Duties may include hiking; maintenance of trail ways; using hand and power tools; removing invasive species; protecting and enhancing native species populations; monitoring wildlife; recording data; and other general field work.
Specific Position Goals/Expectations: • Hold an interest in preserving Hawaiʻi’s native plants and animals • Possess a good attitude and willingness to learn • Ability to follow directions, working in small groups or individually • Be able to perform laborious work, including lifting 45 pounds, for 8 hours a day • Give 100% effort each day • Openly communicate observations and questions to fellow Conservation Field Crew Members and Crew Leader
