The Maui Invasive Species Committee is hiring for a Field Crew Leader for the Coqui Crew. Recruitment closes February 19th.

  • Shifts: Monday – Thursday 12-10:30 (winter), 1:00 pm to 11:30 pm (summer) with occasional weekends and daytime shifts as operational needs dictate.
  • Salary: Starting salary is $3400/month ($20.40/hour).
  • Position-specific responsibilities. Leads a crew in field operations to control coqui frogs and ensures accurate data is collected. Trains new field staff in control techniques, data collection, and small engine use and maintenance. Assists with public relations and property access in the field. Work involves mixing 50 lb bags of citric acid into a 16% solution, hiking in rough terrain while carrying heavy fire hose to spray coqui frog infested areas, and maintaining detailed records including GIS.
  • Basic Qualifications: Must have a current driver’s license and high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some experience (3-5 years) of field activities related to natural resource management and the ability to lead a diverse group and ensure safety in the field.
