The ‘Alalā Release and Tracking Team is seeking a staff member to conduct reintroduction activities near Kūlani, Hawai‘i Island.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in the sciences or equivalent vocational experience in conservation, and experience in remote backcountry environments.

Daily responsibilities include caring for birds in aviaries prior to release, radio tracking released individuals, preparing and provisioning supplementary food, assisting in recapture and transmitter attachment, monitoring behavior and condition of birds before and after release, detailed record keeping, and other duties as assigned.

This position is temporary (approximately 6 months but no more than 12 months), and full-time (40 hours per week).
