One of the immediate vacancies is located in Downtown and is Temporary.
Level III - $4,079 to $4,968 per month (SR-20, Step C to H)
Level IV - $4,413 to $5,373 per month (SR-22, Step C to H).
Duties Summary
Aquatic Biologist III: Independently performs a limited range of professional fishery assignments; conducts underwater surveys of fishes; may direct the work of lower level personnel in limited projects or phases of major projects; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Aquatic Biologist IV: Independently performs the full range of fishery research and management activities; supervises lower level fishery workers as assigned and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in marine biology, freshwater biology, ecology, zoology or a related biological science and which included a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester credit hours in such courses as fisheries biology, ichthyology, limnology, biological oceanography, marine or freshwater ecology, invertebrate ecology or similar courses applicable to the field of aquatic biology.
Specialized Experience:
Aquatic Biologist III: One (1) year of progressively responsible professional work experience in fishery or aquatic biology which involved the management, conservation, development, utilization and protection of aquatic resources, and/or scientific research dealing with aquatic resources and environment.
Aquatic Biologist IV: Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in fishery or aquatic biology which involved the management, conservation, development, utilization and protection of aquatic resources, and/or scientific research dealing with aquatic resources and environment.
