Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

Serves as the key member of the PICCC team, providing strategic communications support. Works with PICCC staff, Steering Committee, other Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCC), Pacific Island communities, and throughout the cooperative conservation community to communicate PICCC’s work/activities addressing climate change impacts on landscape, habitat, and cultural resource conservation as well as adaptation to these impacts. Serves as the primary point of contact on public affairs, environmental information, and outreach issues for the organization at the local, national, and global levels; is a key contributor to the development, improvement, control, and efficiencies of programs and policies related to outreach; and often serves as the official spokesperson for assigned areas, and is responsible for providing expertise to PICCC members’ public affairs and outreach personnel regarding assigned areas or programs as requested. Directly supports the PICCC Steering Committee, including attending Steering Committee meetings. Work products and activities consistently reflect a full up-to-date utilization of the methods, approaches, and techniques involved in environmental information, public affairs, and outreach and demonstrates consistent factual reliability. Develops program guidance and priorities with the PICCC Coordinator, with input and concurrence by the Steering Committee. Application deadline 2/14/14.
