This position is part of the Oahu National Wildlife Refuge Complex. As a Biological Science Technician you will be responsible for assisting in planning in surveys, habitat management activities, and controlling and monitoring the impact of development projects on native species.

  • Assisting in the planning of biological surveys and multifaceted studies by contributing ideas, determining research methods, establishing practical procedures for accomplishing and reporting the work; and providing work direction and guidance to lower graded technicians and volunteers in gathering field data.
  • Identifying, capturing, handling, and tag or collar various wildlife species; assessing readings, measurements, tests and observations taken; and collecting biological data to determine actual and potential impact on resources.
  • Developing and using automated databases to enter, organize and perform preliminary analysis of collected field data, and using standard statistical methods in preparation of reports.
