Pono Pacific is currently seeking individuals interested in employment as a conservation field crew member for a mangrove removal project. This project is scheduled for approximately 10 months. Candidates should be prepared to work 4 full days a week in a potentially extreme hot or cold outdoor environment.
This position carries out general labor work, under close supervision by a crew leader, in the conservation field to help with maintenance and preservation of native marine ecosystems. Duties may include accessing military installations, utilizing hand tools to remove invasive species, carrying 45 pounds of vegetation, safely chipping material, and operating a vehicle.
Hawaii is home to numerous plant and animal species found nowhere else in the world. By contributing your time and energy, you will assist in the restoration and preservation of biologically sensitive ecosystems.
